Background
As the UX Researcher and Designer, I worked on the design of a patient-centric app that offered a holistic program featuring several tailored therapies, such as educational modules, wellness videos, cognitive games, and reminiscence therapy.
I was assigned a project by a senior leader in clinical strategy to reimagine and redesign the app's program journey, making it more user-friendly and engaging for older patients.
Acting as both the UI and UX Designer, I led the redesign process to optimize the visual elements and overall user experience, which resulted in the successful launch of a new version of the app. 🌟📱
Sneak Peak into the Design Strategy Process
In a cross-functional endeavor, I joined hands with the Clinical Team to define both the content and the user journey for the program experience.
Our collective aim was to create a pathway that is intuitive, enriching, and clinically effective for the demographic.
We also proposed the implementation of a Mascot that would guide the patient population in the program journey on the platform and create an emotional personal connection.
Mascot Strategy
The objective of the mascot design was to strengthen brand identity and enhance product engagement across the platform.
The mascot is a virtual care companion, created to guide users throughout their journey on the platform with kindness and encouragement.
Mascot is designed to assist users in various ways, including onboarding support, guiding them through program activities, providing educational insights, offering gentle reminders, and helping with interface navigation.
This character goes beyond being just visually appealing – it is carefully crafted to improve the user experience by offering personalized assistance at key moments in the journey.
Additionally, the mascot’s design is intentionally gender-neutral, ensuring a welcoming interaction for all users.
By integrating this innovative feature, the platform benefits from improved user engagement and a more personalized, supportive experience for its users.
